Plain-English version

Presenter Pointer is a Mac app that runs entirely on your computer. It doesn't connect to the internet. It doesn't have an account system. It doesn't analyze your usage. It doesn't share anything with anyone.

The only data it stores is your settings (color preferences, shortcut customizations, whether Advanced mode is enabled, etc.). These are stored in macOS UserDefaults on your local machine. They never leave your computer.

Detailed policy

Data collection

Presenter Pointer does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. The app does not include any analytics SDKs, telemetry libraries, or tracking code.

Data storage

The following preferences are stored locally on your Mac via macOS UserDefaults:

• Selected stroke color and any custom color you choose
• Linger duration (auto-fade timing)
• Stroke width
• Whether keyboard hints are shown
• Whether Advanced mode is enabled
• Indicator bar visibility and position
• Spotlight radius and shape

These preferences are accessible only to your user account on your Mac. Removing the app removes all stored preferences.

Network access

Presenter Pointer does not make network requests. The app does not include any networking entitlements in its sandbox configuration. You can verify this in macOS > Settings > Privacy & Security > Network.

System permissions

Presenter Pointer does not request Accessibility permissions, Screen Recording permissions, or any other privacy-sensitive permissions. The app uses Apple's Carbon Hot Key API for global shortcut registration, which does not require user consent.

App distribution

Presenter Pointer is distributed exclusively through the Mac App Store. Apple Inc. operates as the merchant of record for all sales. Apple's privacy policy applies to the purchase transaction. See Apple's Privacy Policy for details.

Third-party services

Presenter Pointer does not integrate with any third-party services, SDKs, or libraries that collect or transmit data.

Children's privacy

Presenter Pointer is not directed at children. Because the app collects no data from anyone, this section is included for completeness only.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL. The date below indicates the last update. Material changes will be communicated via app update notes on the Mac App Store.
